'Here in East Asia, what I call a small-scale phenomenon of “voluntary association” is in the process of being born. Right now, in various areas of East Asia, places like art centers, community spaces, live venues, organic farms, cafés, guest houses, etc. are being created in attempts to interconnect various modes of activities including daily life, art & culture, and social activism. These spaces are trying to shape new ways for “space and society” to interrelate and building an inter-Asia grassroots network.'
